Iran: 140 people executed in southern Khorasan province

The Iranian regime has executed 140 people it accused of drug smuggling in the province of South Khorasan over the past year, according to the province’s judiciary.

The state-run Mehr news agency quoted a judiciary official of the regime, Mohammad Baqer Baqeri, as saying on Saturday that the regime’s “revolutionary court” will be “firm” against what he described as offenders and drug smugglers.

The regime has increased the number of executions in Iran dramatically in order to instill fear and terror in the society and to curb popular protests.
