Report on Four Iranian Asylum Seekers in Sweden: Mitra Kahrom, Ali Mansouri, Fouad Velzi and Namjo Tahmi

Last week was a relatively successful week for Iranian asylum-seekers who were under threat of deportation in Sweden.

It was said that Fouad Velzi would be deported on Friday 7 October 2011. Based on this information, many people began to undertake extraordinary activities on his behalf.

After a conversation with Fouad, I too, as a representative of the International Coalition for the Rights of Iranian Refugees and as Fouad’s political representative, started a number of special activities. First, I contacted Rasoul Benavand [of the Borderless Organization], who was at the time of the news in a meeting with the Justice Party to plan a demonstration in support of the demand to halt Fouad’s deportation order. This protest action was carried out the following day, and a number of activists and organizations participated, among them activists from the International Federation of Iranian Refugees (a member organization of the ICRIR).

The same night, together with activists in Mission Free Iran’s network, we gave new life to the letter-writing campaign on Fouad’s behalf, and engaged in a number of other activities. Later that night, we were informed by Rasoul Benavand and Esmail Yari, who is officially Fouad’s second lawyer assigned by the European Organization of Iranian Refugees (which is a member of the ICRIR), that the news of Fouad’s deportation was incorrect. This was due to Fouad’s misunderstanding and a lack of attention to detail by Fouad’s Swedish lawyer with regard to conversations and communications with the police and the Migration Office. According to a new decision, Fouad was in fact to be released, not deported, on Friday.

Fouad is free today but as long as he has not been granted asylum status, he shouldn’t be totally at ease. From this moment onward, the Coalition considers its responsibility towards Fouad’s case accomplished and wishes him happiness.

A few days later, more exactly, on Thursday 13 October, Mitra Kahrom’s deportation order was lifted. She was interviewed anew at the detention center, and an hour after the end of interview, she was granted immigration status and leave to stay. We congratulate dear Mitra, after all of the hardships she sustained, both under Iran’s sexual apartheid and even in Sweden where she was cold-bloodedly detained for more than 50 days under the nerve-wracking threat of deportation to imprisonment and torture. We wish her happiness and prosperity.

The same day, we were informed that the deportation sentences of Namjo Tahmi and Ali Mansouri had also been halted. Like Mitra, Namjo was granted leave to stay. However, the case of Ali Mansouri, like that of Fouad, is still subject to review. We are certain that Ali Mansouri will be granted leave to stay and the status of refugee; we use this occasion to wish him success and happiness. We also congratulate Namjo and the Borderless Organization, as well as Namjoo’s lawyer, from the bottom of our hearts for their very professional and effective work.

This period’s activities, the successes and achievements, and the areas that require closer attention, will be analyzed soon.

اطلأعیه ائتلاف در ارتباط با پناهجویان میترا کهرم، علی‌ منصوری، فواد ولزی و نامجو تهمی‌

هفته گذشته هفته نسبتاً موفقیت آمیزی برای پناهجویان ایرانی بود که در معرض دیپورت قرار داشتند. گفته بودند که فواد ولزی قرار است جمعه ۷ اکتبر دیپورت شود. بسیاری بر پایه این باور دست به اقدامات اضطراری متداول میزدند.پس از تماس فواد با من بر همین باور من نیز به نمایندگی از سوی ائتلاف و به عنوان امین فواد دست به اقدامات ویژه‌ای زدم. اول از رسول بناوند که در لحظه تماس در جلسه مشترک با حزب عدالت بود خواستم که به فکر تظاهراتی در حمایت از خواست توقف حکم دیÙ �ورت باشد،این تظاهرات روز بعد با شرکت بسیاری از فعالین و سازمانها از جمله فعالین فدراسیون برگزار شد. همان چهار شنبه شب به همراه سایر فعالین ‌نت وورک میشن فری ایران یکبار دیگر به کمپین نامه نگاری قبلی‌ انرژی جدیدی دادیم و اقدامات دیگری را هم در دستور گذاشتیم. همان شب از طریق رسول بناوند و اسمأعیل یاری که رسماً وکیل دوم فواد از سوی سازمان اروپأی پناهجویان ایرانی و عضو ائتلاف هم هست مطلع شدیم که مساله دیپورت فواد ناشی‌ از بدفهمی فواد و عدم توجه دقیق وکیل سوئدی فواد به مکالمات و ارتباطات اخیر پلیس و اداره مهاجرت و فواد و وکیلش بوده است. فواد مطابق حکم از روز جمعه آزاد حساب میشد.

فواد امروز آزاد است ولی‌ هنوز تا زمانی‌ که اقامت نگرفته است نباید آسوده باشد.از این جا به بعد ائتلاف وظایف خود را در قبال فواد اینجام شده میداند، و برایش آرزوی خوشبختی‌ می‌کند.

چند روز بعد، دقیقتر، پنجشنبه ۱۳ اکتبر، حکم دیپورت میترا کهرم هم ملغی شد و ایشان همان روز از نو و در محل بازداشتگاه مصاحبه شده و یک ساعت پس از خاتمه مصاحبه پذیرش درخواست پناهندگی و اجازه اقامت ایشان به وی ابلاغ شد. به میترای عزیز هم تبریک میگوییم. و پس از این همه سختی چه در ایران زیر یوغ آپارتاید جنسی‌ و چه در سوئد که بیرحمانه او را بیش از ۵۰ روز زیر تیغ دیپورت به زندان و شکنجه، آزار داد، برایش آرزوی شادی و خوشبختی‌ و موفقیت می‌کنیم.

همان روز خبردار شدیم که احکام دیپورت نامجو تهمی‌ و علی‌ منصوری هم استاپ خورده، نامجو هم مانند میترا اقامت گرفته و پرونده علی‌ منصوری هم مانند فواد مجددا برسی‌ خواهد شد.

برای نامجوی عزیز از صمیم قالب خوش حالیم و به سازمان بی‌مرز و وکیل نامجو به دلیل کار بسیار حرفه‌ای و موثرشان تبریک میگوییم.

فعالیت این دوره، موفقیت‌ها و دستاورد‌هایمان و عرصه هایی که باید مورد توجه بیشتری قرار بگیرند بزودی جمعبندی شد.
